Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some answers to commonly asked questions. If you have a specific
question or would like more information, stop in and see us or call us at

What are your hours of operations?
We are open Monday - Saturday, 9am - 5:30pm and Sunday, 9am - 4pm.
What holidays are you closed for?
We are open every day of the year,
except for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. On other holidays, such as
Easter, July 4th, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, we will typically be open until 1:00.
Are you ever closed due to weather?
We try our best to stay open, even in poor weather. If for some reason,
extremely hazardous weather is in our area (such as heavy thunderstorms,
tornado watches, or tropical weather) we may close early, due to the lack of
protected areas at the nursery. This is for the safety of our staff and our
customers. If hazardous weather is in our area, please call to confirm that
we are open at 813-685-3265.
Do you accept credit cards?
We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and debit cards. We
also accept in-state checks, with a valid drivers' license.
Do you have a restroom on the premises?
Yes. We built a brand-new restroom for our customers this year.
Do you take special orders?
Yes. If we do not have a plant you are looking for, we will make every
attempt within reason to locate the plant for you. If it is a plant from a
vendor whose products we normally carry, we should be able to determine the
availability quickly. Sometimes, we may not be able to take special orders,
e.g. if they are for products that are unavailable in our area, or for
products which would require a minimum shipment to obtain a single item. If
you are having trouble locating a particular item, talk with one of our
knowledgeable staff, they may be able to help you find an alternative
that is readily available.
Do you offer delivery?
We offer local delivery within Hillsborough County and to portions of Pasco,
Pinellas, and Polk counties for any of our products. Due to restrictions and
regulations on shipping, we do not offer shipping or delivery beyond these
areas.
What are your delivery fees?
Delivery fees are based on your zip code and start at $30. See our

Do you offer installation services?
We proudly offer our Professional Installation Service for any of our
plants. Every installation includes Kerby's Planting Soil, a bag of Kerby's
8-4-8 fertilizer, staking when necessary and hands-on instructions for the
care of your new plants. There is a minimum planting fee of $40.
Do you offer landscape design services?
We offer our
Landscape Design Service free at the nursery. Just bring us
pictures and measurements of the area you want inspiration for and one of
our designers can help you transform your garden. This service is by
appointment, so call the nursery at 813-685-3265 to schedule a time.
Do you have planting instructions?
We sure do and you can get a copy
here. The single-most common mistake we see is plants being planted too low
in the ground.
Always plant level with the surrounding soil, and make sure to account for
mulch as well.
How often should I water my plants?
All plants will have different watering requirements, but there are a few
rules of thumb to follow. Our typical recommendation is to water daily for
the first month, every other day for the second month, and twice per week in
the third month. Thereafter, most plants can be considered established and
will thrive on one good soaking per week. Always water in the morning, and
never water if a plant is already over-saturated. These are general rules,
and many plants may have different watering needs. Call or come in and talk
to one of our staff if you have a specific question about a
plant's water-needs.
