Annual and Perennial Flowers
Blooms! Color! Texture!
You can use flowers as the main attraction, as borders, as anchor/foundation plants, or all of the above. No matter how you choose to incorporate them, annuals and perennials bring a “wow factor” to accent your landscape design.
Annuals
or Perennials?
Annuals tend to thrive for one growing season or year, and their lifespan is completed annually (hence the name). An advantage of living in Florida is that our tropical climate means some annuals may last longer than a year or two.
An added benefit: because they are shorter-lived, growing annuals provides the opportunity to play around with color, texture, whimsy, and design in your garden. Switch things up seasonally or whenever the mood strikes you! There are always new annuals popping up in the nursery as the seasons change.
Perennials have a longer life cycle and therefore will live beyond a year (usually two or more). Many of our perennials in the nursery are considered evergreens, which means that even when not blooming they still have their leaves/foliage. Guaranteed year-round growth can’t be beat!
For twice the fun in your garden: dare to plant a mix of each!
