Nothing says fall like a porch full of Mums!🌼
Here are some tips that will help your mums thrive:
💧Watering
When watering mums, be sure to water at the base of the plant, avoiding the leaves and flowers. Watering from the top can create a gap or a hole in your mum.
When kept in containers, water when the first inch of soil is dry, this is usually every day or every other day here in Florida.
☀️Sunlight
Mums need sun for their buds to open, so keep your mum in a spot where it will get 4-6 hours of sun.
Once the buds have opened, protect the plant from the hot afternoon sun, as this can cause the flowers to dry out and brown.
💚Soil and Drainage
In containers, you want to ensure you’re using a well-draining potting soil. Make sure the container you’re planting them in has drainage holes, letting them sit in water can cause root rot.
