This is just absolutely our favorite time of year. It’s time for almost everything in the garden! From veggie gardens to spring flowers, fruit trees to butterfly gardens, it’s a great time to start planting everything. It’s one of those times of year where it is hard to pick which project to work on first!
And this Saturday, we are celebrating the beauty of spring with our annual Spring Fling! There are quite a few things going on, so I thought we’d use the newsletter space this week to give you the schedule.
First, we’ve got a series of mini seminars to help you get your gardens growing:
10 am – I’m kicking it off with a 2025 Spring Flower Preview. We’ve got some new varieties and some tried-and-true classics to show off. Tons of color to make your garden more beautiful than ever.
11 am – More reasons to love your plants! Dawn Addison, a dual-certified nurse practitioner specializing in both adult/geriatric and psychiatric care, is joining us to share the benefits of Plant Therapy. Dawn uses innovative, outside-the-box approaches in her work – she will delight you by bringing a “royal flair” to her seminar.
12 pm – The Changing Garden: A Spring Makeover – Milton left all of our yards a little different, so in this mini seminar we’ll talk about replanting trees, what to do with plants that have had a change in environment, and touch on designing a beautiful landscape with stunning shrubs.
1 pm – Get ready for a garden party. Once you’ve got your landscape filled with color, you’ll want to invite friends over to enjoy it. So enjoy some homemade mocktails while we talk about designing a stylish table for hosting your backyard Spring Garden Party.
In addition to the mini garden seminar series, we have other fun events happening around the Nursery:
From 9 am to 2 pm, we’ll have our Kids Gardening Activity. Kids can decorate a pot and create a little succulent planting to take home with them (limit one per child).
From 9 am to 12 noon, Mi Cafecito Mobile Coffee Bar will be here with caffeinated beverages for purchase.
From 10 am to 1 pm (or until sellout), Heather with Spellbound Sourdough will be here with her delectable sourdough goodies.
All day long, our Spring Garden Wall and Butterfly Murals are available for photo ops.
And of course, we’ll be open all weekend long to help you make your garden beautiful. Come out, enjoy the great weather, and escape into your garden for a little while. There is a quote I heard recently: “If you want to be stressed, turn on the news; if you want to de-stress, head out in nature.” That’s where you’ll find us, in the garden soaking up nature all spring long.
