Today’s Teaching Thursday is really a watering PSA. At Kerby’s your success is our mission, and for you to be successful with your plants you have to water consistently. That means that even after plenty of rain like we got this past weekend, after a day off, you’ve got to pick right back up on your watering schedule. The picture is of a month-old Magnolia in Joey’s yard on Tuesday afternoon. A day after the rain and it is already wilting! Rain is good, but it doesn’t necessarily give you a pass to stop watering. Consistency is better than intensity. In life and in watering. Be consistent and you’ll have great garden success!
Remember for new plants:
– Water daily for the 1st month, always in the morning
– Water every other day for the second month
– Water every third day for the third month
Thereafter, be sure most plants are receiving a deep soaking twice per week when it is hot and weekly when it cools.
