Thriller: This is the focal point for your container. Some examples include the following:
•Canna Lily
•Celosia
•Coleus
•Salvia
Filler: Medium height plants to give the container a full look and add texture.
•Crossandra
•Dahlberg Daisy
•Lavender
•Asparagus Fern
•Persian Shield
Spiller: A low plant that will cascade over the side of the container:
•Sweet Potato Vine
•Gold Dust
•Creeping Jenny
•Bacopa
•Creeping Fig
Keep in mind to mix plants with similar water needs. This helps keep your container lasting all season long.
