The Worst Halloween Candy

Click to Listen Button

Halloween is upon us and there is always a lot of chatter about what constitutes good candy vs. bad candy. Honestly, bad candy is sort of like bad pizza – it’s still pretty good. But there are still some awfully heated opinions as to what is and isn’t a top tier candy. What one person loves, another seems to find detestable.

To add a little fuel to this fire, I found that candystore.com posts a top 10 worst and best Halloween candies each year.

So yesterday at a staff meeting, I had a little Halloween surprise for everyone. I showed up with bowls of the 10 worst candies, and we had our own little taste test. Apparently, I am in the minority with my affinity for candy corns (and mellowcreme pumpkins too – though I ate all of those before the staff meeting…) I love circus peanuts and licorice; smarties are a core childhood memory. I think we all sort of agreed that the peanut butter taffy wasn’t all that great and the wax bottles left something to be desired, but Almond Joy. Coconut, almonds, what’s not to like!

In the end everyone has their favorite candy, and they are probably willing to defend it to the end. Just for comparison, here are the top 10 Best Halloween candies from candystore.com.

I will admit there are some good ones on this list. What’s your favorite candy? What house are you making sure to stop by while trick-or-treating, because you know your kids will come back with something tasty to snack on?

While you are rooting through all of your Halloween goodies, be sure to make plans to come see us this November. We’ve got lots of fun planned, starting with Yoga with Gratitude on November 7th and then on November 19th we’ll have our Holiday Preview Sip & Shop and our first ever Plant Bingo.

Have a safe and Happy Halloween, enjoying your favorite candy, whatever it may be.
